Role Purpose: 

Overall accountability for governance, commercial control, risk management, and successful delivery of the project.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Project governance and approvals
  • Commercial and financial oversight
  • Stakeholder management

Key Responsibilities:

  • Approve contracts, budgets, and schedules
  • Chair phase-gate and governance reviews
  • Engage lenders and regulators

Key Deliverables:

  • Approved project strategy
  • Phase-gate approvals
  • Final handover approval

Core Competencies

  • Executive project governance and decision-making
  • Large-scale capital project leadership
  • Commercial, financial, and risk management
  • Stakeholder, lender, and regulator engagement
  • Independent challenge and assurance capability

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 25+ years capital project experience
  • Senior leadership roles on £250m+ EPC/EPCM projects
  • Extensive experience in chemical, petrochemical, oil & gas, or energy sectors
  • Direct engagement with lenders, insurers, and regulators
  • Experience acting on behalf of asset owners
