Role Purpose:
Overall accountability for governance, commercial control, risk management, and successful delivery of the project.
Key Accountabilities:
- Project governance and approvals
- Commercial and financial oversight
- Stakeholder management
Key Responsibilities:
- Approve contracts, budgets, and schedules
- Chair phase-gate and governance reviews
- Engage lenders and regulators
Key Deliverables:
- Approved project strategy
- Phase-gate approvals
- Final handover approval
Core Competencies
- Executive project governance and decision-making
- Large-scale capital project leadership
- Commercial, financial, and risk management
- Stakeholder, lender, and regulator engagement
- Independent challenge and assurance capability
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 25+ years capital project experience
- Senior leadership roles on £250m+ EPC/EPCM projects
- Extensive experience in chemical, petrochemical, oil & gas, or energy sectors
- Direct engagement with lenders, insurers, and regulators
- Experience acting on behalf of asset owners
