Regional Sales Manager UK & Ireland

About The Role:

The Regional Sales Manager UK & Ireland (RSM) is responsible for leading the UK team in achieving order conversion in line with budget, business development and project specification within the defined territory. The RSM will ensure effective research and identification of end users is completed and tracked, along with developing plans to secure business and identifying new opportunities through existing and new distribution arrangements, as well as evaluating effective supply routes for end user targets.

The RSM will proactively enhance the reputation of the company by taking ownership of and adding value to the customer proposition.  The RSM will need to be self-disciplined and organised with the ability to work remotely with both determination and focus on business results, as well as having the ability to manage and coach direct reports.

This role requires close liaison with the Regional Manager and the management of other sales team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Directly accountable for developing and delivering annual sales targets within the UK market, driving the UK sales team towards exceeding the budgeted and planned objectives on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
  • Accountability for identifying and closing projects, some of which are over a sustained period of time.
  • Responsible for updating and developing five-year plan in conjunction with the UK sales team, whilst being accountable for its execution and delivery.
  • Accountability for developing and executing plans that defend existing business whilst also remaining focused on future opportunities to ensure the UK market delivers on its plans.
  • Identify new markets and product development opportunities, delivering strategies that ensures we convert those into sales opportunities
  • Role model drive and resilience amongst the team to ensure we make the most of all potential opportunities regardless of the challenge. Owning solutions not problems.
  • Provide accurate, structured and well thought out short-term order forecasts on time each month detailing order intake for the next five months for the UK market.
  • Ensure ongoing monitoring of competitor activity and market trends that may influence the business objectives and strategy. Highlighting risks and developing strategies to defend the company’s position.
  • Maintain and expand the company’s presence with key figures in organisations and specifying sectors.
  • Provide input on potential marketing activities.
  • Identify at the earliest point capable of influence, projects and opportunities within the territory. On such projects, to identify the decision makers in relation to the specification, purchase and installation of products within the company’s product range with a view to grow the business and achieve agreed targets.
  • Target new OEM’s and other regular end users in the specified territory, to estimate potential and to be actively involved in developing a sales strategy that will maximise each given situation presented.
  • Proactively develop and maintain relationships with specific distributors to enable effective targeting of end users, establish business potential, set objectives and formulate a course of action to achieve these objectives. Is highly visible in the market.
  • Provide product/technical support and undertake practical demonstrations of the company’s product range, ensuring effective promotion of the company’s products. Develop and maintain an appropriate level of product and application knowledge commensurate with a professional level of performance and conduct for self and team.
  • Ensure the customers receive a world-class service. Measure customer performance and develop appropriate strategies to implement improvements.
  • Respond to customer complaints with effective resolution to ensure customer’s satisfaction is maintained as well as identifying solutions to ensure no future repetition.
  • Ensure the effective management of all outstanding quotations to ensure completion in a timely manner.

Qualifications

 

·       Educated to high school standard

 

 

Experience

 

 

·       8 – 10 years sales experience in a high volume, quality focused engineering business

 

 

Knowledge and Skills

 

·       Ability to design and deliver sales plans with key objectives and milestones

·       Experience of developing, managing and delivering a sales budget

·       Proven ability to sustain engagement in order placements over a long period of time

·       Ability to work with senior people within large organisations

·       Ability to develop and maintain close relationships with key customers, distributors, end users and specifiers

·       Technical proficiency in the company’s product ranges

·       Ability to develop an internal network to make things happen as to ensure matters are concluded cohesively and effectively

·       Proven ability to challenge ideas based on the best outcome for the customer whilst balancing the company needs

·       Extremely organised as to ensure structure and discipline for both self and team

·       Ability to delivers on promises

·       Demands high standards from self and others

·       Pushes self and others for results, spends time on what is most important
